Adam Peaty (born 28 December 1994) is an English competitive swimmer who specialises in the breaststroke. Peaty is the 2015 world champion, the 2014 and 2016 European champion. He won the gold medal in the 100m breastroke at the 2016 Olympics. Phelps is right to be wowed, for Peaty’s split was more than half a second quicker than the world-record 57.13 he set in winning the individual 100m breaststroke a week ago.
